The new budget will take effect on June 1 and will last until May 31, 2027.
The board was led by Deputy Mayor William Barrett during Monday’s meeting as Mayor Ralph Ekstrand was absent. The village board unanimously approved the special use permit forStay Green Brewery, a 20-seat brewery at 211A Main Street.
The small brewery will offer beer that focuses on sustainable production, local ingredients, and complex flavors, according to its website. There is no indication as to when it may open.

The board also approved the $8,495 purchase of a new monument, which will be placed in Monument Park adjacent to the Village Green. The monument will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country’s founding and feature Farmingdale native Moses Cornelius, who served during the Revolutionary War.
Trustee Cheryl Parisi said the monument will be installed by the end of June, and it will be covered until it is unveiled on July 3 at a ceremony where the village historian will speak about Cornelius’ life.
A grant request to fund this monument through the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce has been made to a potential local donor, according to village documents.
