While discussing the Republican-backed “One Big Beautiful Bill” and its expanded small business deduction, which allows businesses to write off 100% of new facilities, equipment, and capital investments in the first year, Trump told the audience he had pushed for even stronger pro-business measures.
“And this way, when I get out of office in that let’s say eight or nine years from now, I’ll be able to use it myself,” Trump said with a grin.
The crowd immediately broke into laughter and loud applause.

The remark came during a wide-ranging speech in which Trump also discussed falling oil prices, new auto and AI plants coming to America, and his upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
As The Gateway Punditpreviously reported, this is far from the first time President Trump has playfully teased the idea of serving beyond the traditional two-term limit.
Just last month, Trump joked about a third term after being told he was up six points in Iowa polling, responding, “I’m not running… unless you say I CAN!”
In January, during a midterm rally event in Clive, Iowa, Trump jokingly asked the crowd, “Should we do it a fourth time?” while pushing Republicans to win the midterms and protect his agenda.
In February, as The Gateway Punditpreviously reported, Trump told the crowd at a rally in Corpus Christi, Texas, that he would be entitled to a third term in office, because the Democrats “cheated like hell” in 2020.
