Power bank catches fire in an IndiGo Hyderabad-Chandigarh flight on Tuesday (May 5), sources told Times Now. The electronic device caught fire in IndiGo’s 6E 108 flight, carrying passengers from Hyderabad to Chandigarh. The incident occurred after the aircraft landed in Chandigarh. The aircraft was at a halt.

The authorities are evacuating the space and flight for safety purposes. Passengers were deboarded and no injuries have been reported. Situation is under control.

"On 5 May 2026, while IndiGo flight 6E 108 from Hyderabad to Chandigarh was stationary after landing, an incident involving a customer's personal electronic equipment catching fire was reported. In the interest of safety, an immediate evacuation was carried out, and all the relevant authorities were immediately informed," the IndiGo said in an official statement.

"All customers have been safely moved to the terminal and are being attended to by the team to ensure their well-being," the airline added.

Further, the airline said that the aircraft will undergo necessary checks before resuming operations. "At IndiGo, the safety of our customers and crew remains our top priority."
