Tiegermanbrought together families, friends, and supporters for its annual Evening of Honor Gala on April 30th at The Inn at New Hyde Park — an evening filled with connection, gratitude, and a shared sense of purpose.

As a family of non-public, state-approved schools and community-based programs, including Tiegerman Schools and Tiegerman Community Services, Tiegerman serves children from preschool to 22+ and families across Long Island and Queens. Through education, residential services, vocational training, and day habilitation, the organization is committed to helping individuals with language, learning, and developmental differences build meaningful, independent lives.

At the heart of the evening was Tiegerman’s mission:“Teaching the Extraordinary.” That message came to life in the room, with families, staff, alumni, donors, and community partners all coming together to celebrate the impact of that work — and the lives it continues to change.

The night also honored several individuals whose dedication and generosity have helped shape the Tiegerman community. Joseph Farber, Esq., received the inaugural Tiegerman Family Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing decades of leadership, service, and deep commitment. Peter and Lisa Fragliossi, along with Nick and Denise Tembelis, were presented with the Tiegerman Family Legacy Award for their ongoing support and partnership. Rosemarie King, Coordinator of Admissions, was honored with the Toya Davis Distinguished Service Award for the compassion and care she brings to every family she guides.

Throughout the evening, there was a strong sense of reflection — on more than 40 years of impact, and on the thousands of lives touched along the way.

“This evening is a reflection of what makes Tiegerman so special — community, commitment, and possibility,” said Dr. Jeremy Tiegerman, Tiegerman COO. “When we invest in communication, confidence, and real-world skills, we’re not just supporting students — we’re opening doors to independence and long-term success.”

That spirit of partnership carried throughout the night, with leadership emphasizing how critical community support is to continue and expand this work across Long Island and Queens.

The evening also included a lively raffle and silent auction, with proceeds directly supporting Tiegerman’s programs. But beyond the fundraising, what stood out most was the feeling in the room, a reminder that this is a community deeply invested in one another and in a shared mission.

The Evening of Honor Gala is not just a celebration. It’s a reflection of what’s possible when people come together with heart, purpose, and a belief in every individual’s potential.
