An out-of-control driver crashed an SUV into a Sonoma County supermarket Friday, injuring seven people.

The unidentified female driver slammed her Hyundai Tucson through the front of Oliver’s Market at at 560 Montecito Center in Santa Rosa just before noon, police said.

The SUV careened into the store’s checkout area, and those injured appeared to be inside the store at the time.

Four people sustained minor to major injuries and were transported to hospitals, a spokesman for the Santa Rosa Police Department said. Two others were transported to hospitals with mild injuries. Two more individuals were treated at the scene and released, while another person refused medical treatment.

The incident is being treated as an accident and no criminality is suspected, the police spokesman said.

The driver, described by police as an adult female, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police said the store was expected to remain closed for at least the remainder of the day.

Last week, an elderly womanplowed into a busy grocery storein Los Angeles, killing three people and injuring at least six.

On Sunday, a 49-year-old mandrove into the front of a supermarketin the mountain town of Truckee, injuring four people, including children.
