If you’re very familiar with Snapchat, you certainly understand how its “Albums in Chat” feature works. This tool allows you to select photos directly from your photo gallery during chats. However, instead of showing all photos at once, it arranges them into folders (albums). Unfortunately, some users no longer have access to this feature. New reports indicate that Snapchat can’t currently select “Albums in Chat”.
New reports indicate that Snapchat has low-key removed the feature that allows users to choose photos from albums. This feature, which was available in the chat interface, is no longer visible for users to use. Theaffected Snapchat userssaid they can’t select “Albums in Chat” in the middle of a conversation.
Looking atdifferent reportsso far, it seems this issue is fresh and widespread. If you haven’t noticed this, you can check your photo picker to see if your organized folders for images and memes are still there.
When describing the situation, someaffected userssaid they’re frustrated that the feature is no longer available. A Redditor on the r/SnapchatHelp thread said:“I’m actually losing my mind over this to be so real like every damn day I get closer and closer to deleting this app.”
But what exactly caused this issue? Is the feature indeed gone, or is it just a bug? The answer to these questions is still unclear. As noted by PiunikaWeb, the limited available menu is broken. This could mean the issue is bug-related.
Users are currently frustrated about the issue where Snapchat can’t select albums in the chat menu. With this issue, everyone looking to add photos in chat now needs to scroll through hundreds or thousands of photos to find the right one. This isn’t only time-consuming but also inconvenient for many users.
So far, there are noworkaroundsto restore the album in the chat menu for users. If you currently experience this issue, you may have to use the alternative option for now. Let’s hope that the Snapchat team rolls out a fix sooner rather than later to address this inconvenience.
