In just 48 hours, Barcelona and its surrounding area suffered five stabbings and one shooting, with two people dead and others left fighting for their lives.
The violence has prompted locals and outlets to label the past 48 hours a “Black Weekend,” with all of it the direct fallout of the same failed experiment: unchecked mass migration combined with a socialist government racing to hand out legal status and passports to hundreds of thousands of military-aged men from North Africa and beyond.
The most shocking attack happened around 11 a.m. Saturday in the upscale suburb of Esplugues de Llobregat, near Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium. A knifeman randomly targeted a young local woman — described in some reports as a teenager of possible Asian origin — stabbing her repeatedly in the throat, chest, and stomach.

She died on the spot from massive blood loss. Eyewitnesses told Spanish media El Mundo and Telecinco that the attacker shouted “Allah” before striking. Police have not confirmed his nationality but locals described him as Moroccan or North African. He was arrested shortly afterward in Barcelona’s Les Corts neighborhood.

A 58-year-old man named Jose Luis tried to intervene and was also attacked. He recounted: “I heard some shouting and ran up some steps to the area where the noise was coming from. I saw what appeared to be the man going for his victim and yelled at him. He turned round and came towards me and tried to stab me at the top of the stairs but didn’t manage to.”
The witness continued, “That’s when I tried to hit him. He didn’t like that and picked up some stones from the ground. He threw and hit me with them in the arm, and then attempted to stab me three or four times again. But it was easier for him to stab a young woman than a man. The neighbours started shouting ‘Police, police’, and he turned and ran.”
Esplugues de Llobregat Town Hall issued a statement: “We deeply regret the violent death of a person in the town and extend our condolences to their family and loved ones. The council condemns all forms of violence and expresses its concern over these serious incidents, which affect community life and public safety.” They declared two days of official mourning.
This was far from isolated. Another attack has left a man in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times in broad daylight at Plaça de Catalunya.
