Oyster Bay Day returned to Long Island’s north shore on Saturday, May 2, with thousands of people participating in a wide range of activities along Audrey Avenue that promoted the local businesses in the area.
The event featured live music, inflatables, a deluxe video game truck, mini golf, ax throwing, vendors, shops, restaurants, food trucks and more, Amy Reilly Hanley, the executive director of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Chamber of Commerce, said. There were roughly 100 different vendors that lined the street as well.
The chamber, in partnership with the Town of Oyster Bay, has put the Oyster Bay Day event together each year for the past five years, with it starting after the Oyster Fest was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event filled the void of the larger Oyster Fest and then moved to the spring once Oyster Fest returned.
“The strong sense of community was evident throughout the day, with children seen running from activity to activity—many proudly wearing their team uniforms—while parents made the most of a full day of local events and family fun,” Hanley said.
She said she looks forward to the partnership between the town and chamber continuing for future events as well.
