Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that 'Poriborton has arrived in Bengal,’ adding that the state is now free from fear (Bengal Bhay Mukt Hua Hai), as he spoke before BJP leaders, workers, to celebrate the party's victory in the West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry assembly elections at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Assembly elections to the four states including West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and one Union Territory of Puducherry, were held in April and the results were declared on May 4 (today).

Delivering his speech on BJP's election victory in this round of elections, Prime Minister said, "This evening of May 4 may be fading, but today a new sunrise has dawned on the sacred land of Bengal. A dawn that generations have awaited. The number of seats won by the BJP is not just an election figure. It is the roar of an unshakable faith that has uprooted the politics of fear, appeasement, and violence... Women in Bengal will now enjoy a safe environment, youth will find employment, and migration will stop. The Ayushman Bharat scheme will be given the green light in the first cabinet itself, and the strictest action will be taken against infiltrators."

Before delivering his victory speech from the BJP headquarters, PM Modi said people's power has prevailed and the BJP's politics of good governance has triumphed in West Bengal, while in Assam, the NDA's win illustrates the unwavering support for the ruling alliance's emphasis on development.

In a series of posts on X, Modi also said West Bengal has given a spectacular mandate to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and assured the people of the state that the party will do everything possible to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.

"The Lotus blooms in West Bengal! The 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections will be remembered forever. People's power has prevailed and BJP's politics of good governance has triumphed. I bow to each and every person of West Bengal," he said.

Modi said the BJP's record victory in West Bengal would not have been possible without the efforts and struggles of countless karyakartas (workers) of the party over generations.

A while ago, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who camped in West Bengal for more than two weeks to execute BJP strategy in the assembly election and ensure party's victory, described the saffron surge as "historic win" driven by the sacrifices and struggles of party workers.

He noted that the party's rise to a majority in the state was a direct result of the long-standing struggles and resilience shown by its ground-level cadre over the years.

"This historic victory for the BJP in Bengal is the result of the sacrifices, struggles, and martyrdom of our countless workers. It is a triumph of the patience of those families who, even while enduring violence, never abandoned the saffron flag," Shah posted on X.

The post further read, "In this arduous journey of the BJP from zero to a resounding majority today, I bow to all those workers who offered their lives, endured violence, suffered tortures, and yet never wavered from the path of ideology--and to their families. The people of Bengal have paid tribute to all those martyred BJP workers through this resounding majority."
