PROTESTORS supporting Don Lemon are gathering outside a federal courthouse in Minneapolis as the former CNN star pleads not guilty to charges related to his livestream of a church protest.

The journalist isaccusedof violating a federal law that protects people from being interrupted in a place of worship.

As Lemon appeared in court on Thursday, supporters gathered outside the courthouse to protest the charges.

Some of the nine arrested for the church protest held up their fists as they emerged from the courthouse.

“We want free speech!” they chanted alongside protestors.

“Today, we have the federal government trying to weaponize the Department of Justice to try and silence us,” said activist Nekima Levy Armstrong, who was also arrested.

“These charges need to be dropped right now.”

Protestors chanted “F**k ICE” and “drop the charges” as they waited for updates on Lemon’s hearing.
