Democrats have officially lost the plot—and now even their own members are calling them out for it.
Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania broke ranks in spectacular fashion on the Senate floor this week, eviscerating his own party's decision to tank the Department of Homeland Security funding bill in what can only be described as political sabotage of the highest order.
The Senate rejected the DHS funding bill 52-47, setting the stage for a partial government shutdown beginning Saturday at midnight. And for what? Chuck Schumer and his band of radical Democrats are willing to cripple FEMA disaster relief, ground TSA airport security, hobble Coast Guard operations, and leave America's cybersecurity defenses wide open—all to throw a tantrum over immigration enforcement.
Here's the kicker that the mainstream media won't tell you: ICE is already fully funded through 2029 under the reconciliation bill. Democrats are destroying every other agency for absolutely nothing.
Representative Jason Smith pulled back the curtain on what Democrats are really demanding: they want ICE agents banned from monitoring polling places.
Let that sink in, Patriots. Why would any legal voter fear the presence of immigration enforcement at a voting location? Smith asked the question directly, and Democrats had no answer. They're holding FEMA and TSA hostage to shield election fraud. It's that simple.
Senator Fetterman apparently had enough of the charade. On the Senate floor, he confirmed that ICE has effectively unlimited funding and demanded to know why his party would punish TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA, and cybersecurity over an agency they literally cannot defund.
"Why would we announce to foreign adversaries that our cybersecurity agency is going dark?"
The head of CISA warned Congress directly that when the government shuts down, cyber threats don't take a vacation. Our adversaries work around the clock. Even a brief lapse could have lasting consequences for national security.
This is what Democrats are gambling with—America's safety—for political theater.
