AN Emirati billionaire has been fired as DP World’s CEO after leaked Epstein files revealed explicit emails, including a reference to a “torture video.”
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, 71, allegedlyexchanged messages with the paedophile about sex, escorts and pornographic material, according to docs released by the US Department of Justice.
TheDubaitycoon, who was previously described by Epstein as a “close personal friend”, was this week identified by US lawmakers as one of sixpreviously redacted names in the latest tranche of files.
In April 2009, while serving an 18-month sentence in a Palm Beach jail for procuring a minor for prostitution and on work release, Epstein emailed him: “Where are you? are you ok, I loved the torture video.”
The message is among a cache of emails and documents suggesting the pair were in contact for more than a decade, includingafter Epstein’s 2008 conviction.
Being named in the files is not evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
