A silly hoax in a little Rhode Island town sparked national outrage last week and now the perps responsible are speaking out.
As Boston 25 Newsreported, a local business owner in West Warwick, Rhode Island last week captured surveillance video showing the moment that showing the moment a person walked her pace of work wearing a white robe and a pointed hood.
According to police, the incident was recorded around 2 a.m. Monday.
Two other locals, Ryan Fitzgerald and his brother Sean,saidthey were driving through West Warwick, a small city of roughly31,000 people,when they also recorded a video of the figure near the Main Street gazebo.
“When you see a pointy hood and two eyeballs staring at you, I mean what the hell else is it?” he told WJAR. “It didn’t look like the boogeyman, it looked like the KKK to me.”
“Honestly, me and Sean were just like, ‘Holy crap like, I gotta get the hell out of here,'” he added.
