A shocking case of alleged familicide has emerged from Wazirpur village of Gurugram, where aman is accused of killing his wifeand four minor children before attempting to take his own life by slitting his wrists, police said. The incident, which came to light late Saturday (May 2) night, has left the local community in deep shock as investigators try to piece together the sequence of events and the motive behind the killings. According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday night when Nazim’s brother returned home around 9.30 pm and found the family lying unconscious on the first floor of their house.
He immediately rushed them to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Nazim’s wife and four children dead.
The deceased have been identified as Nazma (35), and the couple’s children Iqra (14), Shifa (11), Aaram (9) and Khatija (6). Nazim, who runs a hair salon and is originally from Uttar Pradesh, survived after allegedly attempting suicide by slitting his wrists.
"The cause behind the incident is not clear yet. Whether Nazim killed his wife and children by poisoning or strangling them is a matter of investigation. We have kept the bodies in a mortuary and are investigating all angles," said Assistant Commissioner of Police Naveen Sharma.
Officials have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and are awaiting forensic reports to determine the exact cause of death. Further investigation is underway as police examine possible triggers behind the alleged mass killing.
