New Delhi:An Indian man Nikhil Gupta, 54 pleaded guilty on Friday for orchestrating a failed assassination plot against Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. The accused pleaded guilty to murder-for-hire, conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit money laundering. In October 2024, US Department of Justice (DOJ) had charged Vikas Yadav and Nikhil Gupta of India with murder-for-hire, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
