Gold Rate Today (May 3, 2026):Gold prices in India continue to show sharp movements on Sunday, May 2, 2026 driven by global uncertainty and strong investor demand for safe-haven assets. According to the All India Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold has climbed to Rs 1,54,800 per 10 grams (inclusive of taxes). Meanwhile, gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) were trading at Rs 1,51,363 per 10 grams, slightly higher than the previous close of Rs 1,51,352. According to fresh data released by the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), gold prices per 10 grams stand at Rs 1,50,263 for 24 carat, Rs 1,49,661 for 23 carat, Rs 1,37,641 for 22 carat, Rs 1,12,697 for 18 carat, and Rs 87,904 for 14 caratgold. As bullion markets remain closed over the weekend, these rates are applicable for both Saturday and Sunday.
Gold saw a notable spike in the last trading session. In Delhi’s bullion market, 24-carat gold rose by Rs 2,000, or 1.31 per cent, to Rs 1,54,800 per 10 grams compared to Rs 1,52,800 previously. Globally, gold prices also strengthened, rising by $91.80 (2.02 per cent) to $4,635.52 per ounce. Futures markets mirrored this trend, with MCX June contracts gaining Rs 1,791 (1.2 per cent) to Rs 1,50,841 per 10 grams. On the Comex in New York, June gold futures climbed by $72.41 (1.59 per cent) to $4,633.91 per ounce.
Market experts attribute this rally to multiple factors, including a weaker US dollar, declining bond yields, and persistent geopolitical tensions in West Asia. Additionally, continued buying interest at lower levels has helped support prices.
Analysts also point out that the US Federal Reserve keeping interest rates unchanged has further boosted gold’s appeal. With global uncertainty still looming, investors are increasingly turning to gold as a safe investment option.
