RUSH EXCERPT:SMITH: "Well, to be fair, this is not the first administration to engage in legal sleight of hand when it comes to the war powers resolution. Fundamentally, no president has ever accepted the constitutionality of the war powers resolution and has found creative ways to get around it. As for the Republicans, again, getting into the war powers resolution of that, the question do you support this war or don’t you? Do you think it makes sense for us to continue this conflict right now, the Republicans, for all of their sort of hand-wringing about the obvious failure of the war to date, the costs that we have seen without any benefits, they seem unwilling to actually take a vote to stop it or rein the president in. But we will keep that pressure up. Senate and house will keep those votes, because I don’t think this war is in the best interest of this country. It certainly shouldn’t have been started in the first place, and it is costing us a great deal, costing the world even more and not getting us the benefits that we were promised by the Trump Administration."
