On Fulton Street in Farmingdale,Haunted House of Hamburgerskeeps Halloween running year-round, a concept that has helped the restaurant carve out a presence both in person and online.
The space is built as an experience more than a standard restaurant. Outside, horror decor and props line the entrance, along with a walk-through graveyard area with themed tombstones, animatronics and Halloween signage. Inside, the dining room features murals, set pieces and paraphernalia tied to horror pop culture.
Actors are brought in at select times for themed events and appear in character during service, moving through the dining room and interacting with guests at their tables. The result is a setting where meals and entertainment run together, and visitors often end up filming what happens around them.
That steady stream of exposure has become a big part of how Haunted House of Hamburgers grows its appeal. Guests regularly post clips from visits, alongside the restaurant’s own Instagram Reels showing food, actor interactions and themed nights.
Together, that content has helped push their Instagram account past 27,000 followers and has extended its reach beyond Long Island.

“We get a huge response on social media,” co-owner Chris Nelson said. “We get comments from London, other countries being like ‘Open up here, open up here’ or ‘I wish we were closer.’”
Nelson noted that visibility has helped expand awareness of Haunted House of Hamburgers past its local base.
“It’s really helped present our business and what we offer here throughout the country, and the world, for that matter,” he said.
Inside, the restaurant rotates different horror-inspired themes over a full American comfort food menu. The current “Stranger Things” setup features actors as characters such as Eleven, Vecna and Eddie Munson, who remain in character as guests indulge in a curated menu.
