India has named their squad for the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup as they aim to build on the 2025 Women's World Cup victory and win the trophy for the first time in history. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team while Smriti Mandhana will remain her deputy.

The big news is that uncapped pacer Nandini Sharma was handed maiden call-up after an impressive display in the 2026 Women's Premier League (WPL). Meanwhile, Amanjot Kaur has been left out due to an injury. Skipper Harmanpreet revealed she is out of action for a long period due to an injury. Kashvee Gautam also missed out due to an injury, with the chief selector Amita Sharma revealing she is set for surgery due to a knee.

Meanwhile, Yastika Bhatia has been named in the squad after a long injury layoff that saw her miss the 2025 Women's World Cup and 2026 WPL. Radha Yadav has earned a recall too after being dropped for the series against Australia and South Africa.

The mega event is set to be hosted by England from June 11, with the final scheduled to take place from July 5 at the iconic Lord's Stadium in London. India is placed in Group A with Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands.
