Jaipur witnessed a dramatic weather shift as intense dust storms and heavy dark clouds swept across the Pink City on Saturday (May 2). The sudden change turned clear skies into a hazy scene, with strong winds reducing visibility and disrupting normal life. The storm brought temporary relief from the heat, even as residents braced for possible rain and further weather activity.
This comes a day after parts of Rajasthan, including Jaipur, received light rainfall under the influence of a western disturbance, bringing partial relief from intense heat, the weather office said on Friday.
Scattered thunderstorms with gusty winds and light showers were recorded in several areas during the past 24 hours, with Chhabra in Baran district receiving 18 mm of rainfall, the highest in the state. Officials, as per PTI, said dust storms and rain activity have led to a slight dip in maximum temperatures, which are currently hovering between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius.
The department has forecast similar weather conditions over the next two to three days, with the possibility of strong winds and light to moderate rainfall in some areas due to another western disturbance and easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal.
