Panic and frustration were seen among commuters on Wednesday after train services on the Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line were delayed by 2–3 hours, leaving many passengers stranded without clear information or assistance.

The disruption affected services between Kalkaji Mandir and Botanical Garden stations. In a post on X, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said, "Delay in train services on Magenta Line between Kalkaji Mandir and Botanical Garden metro stations due to a signalling issue. Normal services on all other lines."

Despite the update, several commuters complained about long waits and lack of proper communication.

One user wrote, " I am in the train since 9:45AM stil not reached Botanical Garden! It’s 11:54AM now"

Another user wrote, "Delhi metro is acting pathetic. They are just announcing short delay from last 3 hours. My office is delayed. My salary will be deducted because Delhi metro doesn't even care to give right information"

A third user said, "Also, while exiting we were required to pay rs 10 as our tickets had expired due to no fault of ours. Please instruct your customer care to be sympathetic and not unreasonable."

A fourth user wrote, "Pathetic! If there was a fault why was an advisory not rolled out asking passengers to take alternative transportation to commute to their work. Why do you have to trap us in metro while you work to fix the issue? Why was this not checked before starting operations today?"

Another commuter said, "At Kalindi Kunj Metro Station, metro services are delayed. No trains are running, and passengers are waiting on the platform. DMRC is working to resolve the issue."

One more user wrote, "We are stuck at Kalkaji Metro Station, The metro has not been moving for 1 hour, how much time will it take to correct the technical issue?"

Officials said efforts were underway to fix the signalling problem and restore normal services, but commuters continued to face inconvenience during peak hours.
