It's April 29 and all eyes are on the much-awaited round 2 of the West Bengal polls. The state witnessed a record 92 percent voter turnout in phase 1 and in round 2, ECI would be expecting the same. The stakes are high, and Bengal is fortified. With a record number of Central forces deployed in the poll-bound state.

Tough battles will be witnessed on several seats, including Bhabanipur, where BJP's Suvendu Adhikari is challenging CM Mamata Banerjee.

Over 2,300 CAPF companies are deployed for the second phase only. Notably, most of the central forces will stay in the state, even after the polling ends. That is what Home Minister Amit Shah said during campaigning in Bengal. 142 seats, spread across 7 districts, will go to the polls in phase 2. More than 3.2 crore voters will decide the fate of over 1400 candidates.

The ruling TMC and BJP in the opposition have brought in their stalwarts for campaigning in the state. For the BJP, it is a battle of prestige as the saffron party eyes to breach the Bengal fortress. While for Mamata, it is a fight to reclaim the throne, for the 4th consecutive time. After the elections end, firstly, eyes would be on the Poll of Polls. Later, the picture will be clear on May 04- the result day.
