Samsung Display and LG Display have reaffirmed the nation’s display prowess by winning top awards from an internationally renowned industry forum.

According to Samsung Display on Wednesday, its dual-folding TriFold panel has been named “Display of the Year,” the most prestigious honor within the Display Industry Awards, presented annually by the Society for Information Display (SID). The award recognizes the most innovative display product introduced over the past year.

On Tuesday (local time), SID praised the TriFold as a new form factor designed for the mobile artificial intelligence era, delivering both powerful performance and exceptional portability. The organization added that its 10-inch-class immersive display unlocks new possibilities across productivity, creativity and entertainment. SID also highlighted the panel’s advanced materials, noting that they enhance the durability of its dual-folding structure while maintaining its slim profile.

Samsung Display began mass production of the TriFold display in September 2025. With a total module thickness of just 0.44 millimeters, it is the thinnest among the company’s foldable panels, while delivering durability that challenges the conventional view that thinner designs are inherently weaker. The product integrates the company’s latest foldable OLED technology, MONT FLEX, and has demonstrated strong reliability in internal testing, withstanding up to 500,000 folds at room temperature without display degradation.

“This recognition reaffirms Samsung Display’s leadership in the foldable market,” said Lee Ho-jung, executive vice president and head of Mobile Display Product Planning Team at Samsung Display.

“By commercializing our first multi-in-folding display that folds inward twice, we have once again demonstrated the potential to expand the foldable market through new form factors.”

LG Display also announced that its 27-inch 540/720-hertz Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) Gaming OLED panel has been awarded "Display of the Year" by SID, earning praise for redefining the gaming display paradigm and accelerating market differentiation.

The award recognizes LG Display’s user-centered display approach, highlighted by its proprietary DFR technology, which allows users to freely choose the mode that best suits their gaming style.
