It’s not every day that Steve Carrell shows up to hype your neighborhood pizza joint — but for onelongtime Los Angeles staple, it’s apparently just business as usual.
Barone’s Famous Italian Restaurant dropped a playfulInstagram Reelthis week featuringthe “Rooster” starstanding outside the eatery, pointing up at the sign and delivering a no-frills endorsement.
“Hi, this is Steve Carrell — see that?” he says in the clip, gesturing above him to the restaurant’s signage. “Barone’s Restaurant. I’ve been coming here for 20 years. Best pizza ever. You should try it.”
The restaurant had fun with the cameo in the caption: “@stevecarrell has been coming here for 20 years. We finally let him in a reel.”
Not bad for a place that’s been around longer than some ofHollywood’s biggest stars.
Barone’s Famous Italian Restaurant traces its roots back to 1945, when four Italian-American families — the Barones, Monteleones, Izzos and Arpaias — introduced pizza to Los Angeles at a time wen the dish was still largely unfamiliar on the West Coast, according to the restaurants’ website.
What started as a bold postwar experiment has since become a fixture of the city’s dining scene, known for its signature rectangular pies and old-school charm.
Today, the restaurant is owned by Tom Monteleone, son of original owner Frank Monteleone, carrying on a decades-long family legacy.
Carrell’s casual co-sign only adds to the lore — a reminder that even in a city obsessed with the next big thing, some classics never go out of style.
