Delhi to Meerut in 55 Minutes:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Meerut South–Modipuram section of the Delhi–Meerut rapid rail corridor on February 22, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said after reviewing preparations at Hindon civil terminal, said media reports. This new section completes the Meerut part of the 82 km corridor. Currently, trains run from New Ashok Nagar in east Delhi to Meerut South. Once the new stretch opens, trains will run between New Ashok Nagar and Modipuram. When the full route is ready, passengers can travel from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in about 55 minutes.

The 23-km Meerut South–Modipuram section passes through busy city areas like Begumpul, MES, and Partapur. Trial runs started in February last year and finished in June. The rapid rail extension aims to smooth travel on the Delhi-Noida-Ghaziabad route. Not only will it reduce travel time but also cut the travel hassle.

During the review meeting, Adityanath told officials to finish preparations on time and ensure tight security, smooth traffic, clean sanitation, and proper public facilities. He asked all departments to coordinate to prevent last-minute problems.

Earlier, he also reviewed the law and order situation and key development projects in Noida, checking police arrangements, crime control, and project progress. He stressed strict vigilance, fast removal of bottlenecks, transparency, and prompt public grievance redressal to support the city’s growth and boost investor confidence.
