Major airline Emirates has shared plans to introduce private bathrooms on board its aircraft - the first in the world to do so.

The UAE's national carrier is already known for luxurious interiors and immaculate service, with private cabins and high-end on board dining - but is about to kick things up a notch.

Not just any kind of bathroom will be added, though.

The president of the airline, Tim Clark, said: 'I'm working on en-suite bathrooms in first-class suites.

'I want everyone to hear that so everyone rushes out the door to find out how they can get bathrooms in first-class suites.'

Speaking via video at the 2026 Capa Airline Leader Summit inBerlinlast week, he shared his plans for the latest upgrade to the aircraft.

With Emirates, first-class cabins are available on board A380 or Boeing 777 jets.

The news was revealed by TheNational, which added that no commercial airline currently provides private en-suite bathrooms for all passengers travelling in first class.
