President Donald Trump said he supports changing the name of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency to National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (NICE) in order to troll the media.
In aTruth Social postSunday night, Trump agreed with an X user who proposed, “I want Trump to change ICE to NICE (National Immigration and Customs Enforcement) so the media has to say NICE agents all day everyday”.
“GREAT IDEA!!! DO IT,” Trump responded to the post.
As pointed out byThe Gateway Pundit, the idea was originally recommended by comedian Adam Carolla during an appearance onJesse Watters Primetimein 2025.
“They hate ICE,” Carolla told Watters. “It’s a national organization. Start it with the word N. Can you imagine Gavin Newsom? ‘These NICE agents pulling up here in their NICE vans. We’ve got to stop these NICE people. The NICE gestapo.’ We would screw them up!”
Watters agreed,” You know, Donald Trump loves branding. I would not put it past them to add the N.”
ICE got a bad rap after agents shot and killed two leftist American citizens impeding deportation operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in January.
In a more seriouspostMonday, Trump urged Republicans to unify behind a budget blueprint to bypass Democrat obstruction and keep Border Patrol and ICE agents funded.
So far, no official moves have been made to change the agency’s name, but Trump’s previous name change of the “Gulf of Mexico” to the “Gulf of America” happened via executive order.
