Nicolas Cage is making his debut in the Marvel Universe as he takes the role of Ben Reilly inMarvel's Spider-Noir. The live-action series, which was teased in the latest teaser trailer with a clip of a striking black-and-white noir alongside its True-Hue colour version, promises a darker, grittier take on the Spider-Man mythos.
Inspired byMarvel Comics' Spider-Man Noir, the live-action series follows Ben Reilly, a beaten- down private investigator navigating the dark streets of 1930s New York. Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage brings the character of Ben Reilly, who must confront his past as New York's only superhero, to life. The teaser trailer was unveiled byMarvel StudiosviaPrime Videoon Thursday.
Joining Nicolas Cage in the cast of the live-action series are Lamorne Morris as journalist Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as night club chanteuse Cat Hardy, and Karen Rodriguez as Janet, Ben Reilly's assistant detective. The ensemble also includes Jack Huston, Abraham Popoola, Brendan Gleeson, and Jack Huston.
According to TV Blackbox, the series is set to stream in two different formats, the vibrant 'True-Hue Full Colour,' and the classic 'Authentic Black & White.' The unique approach gives audiences the freedom to choose between two ways to experience the series' story.
The dual-experience approach givesMarvel fansa more immersive journey into the darkness of 1930s New York and into Ben Reilly's morally complex world. Marvel's decision to release the series in dual format is a nod to classic noir cinema while keeping the appeal to contemporary audiences.
