The Carle Place School District has earned recognition by the NAMM Foundation as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the 2025–2026 school year.
This is the seventh time the district has been honored with this distinction, which celebrates school communities that demonstrate a consistent, districtwide commitment to providing strong, high-quality music education opportunities for students.
The NAMM Foundation, a nonprofit organization supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants, works to promote music education and participation across all ages through research initiatives, charitable giving and public service programs.
Districts are selected for this recognition based on a range of criteria, including program funding, student participation, instructional time, graduation requirements, facilities, community involvement and overall support for music programming.
This achievement reflects the continued efforts of teachers, administrators, families, students and community members who work together to sustain and strengthen music education throughout the district.
Their support helps ensure that students have access to meaningful learning and growth through music.
“Our music educators provide students with enriching experiences that build creativity, teamwork and self-expression through music,” Michael Limone, Carle Place district director for fine and performing arts, said. “This honor speaks to their daily commitment in the classroom and the strong partnership between our schools, families and community in supporting the arts as a vital part of education.”
The Best Communities for Music Education program recognizes 1,008 districts nationwide and highlights the importance of music as a core component of a well-rounded education, as well as its positive impact on student learning and development.
