Paul’s second letter to his young disciple, Timothy, which is recorded in the New Testament portion of the Bible, was written while Paul was sitting in prison in the city of Rome.
Paul had been originally arrested in Jerusalem, due to the attacks of the Satanic Jews, who tried very hard to kill him. (This story is in written in the last chapters in the book of Acts.)
Paul used his Roman citizenship to appeal to Caesar, the king of the Roman Empire, to have his case moved out of Jerusalem and its jurisdiction in Caesarea where he was kept locked up, to the city of Rome.

Paul endured tremendous opposition and attacks by the Satanic Jews who opposed the Gospel message, which declares that Jesus Christ is the Jewish Messiah, and rightful King of Israel, and that the salvation of one’s soul was now available to every single person living on Planet Earth, regardless of group affiliations such as citizenship, ethnicity and race, gender, and any other way of classifying human beings into groups.
Paul’s life was an example of the principle thatbelieving the Truth makes one an outcastin Satan’s world system, but publicly proclaiming that Truth to others,makes one a target of Satan, who will do everything he can to destroy and silence you.
This is what he wrote to Timothy (emphasis mine):
I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.
For this reason I remind youto fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
