Of course, US PresidentDonald Trumpis one of the people who is making the most buzz after remaining unharmed post theWhite HouseCorrespondents’ Dinner shooting in Washington, DC, that happened on Sunday, April 26– but apart from him, another name that is grabbing everyone’s attention is White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Confused as to why? Well, the reason is a remark she had made ahead of the dinner, which ended up turning into something that she probably did not see coming: “There will be some shots fired tonight.”

A video is circulating on social media which showed Leavitt getting interviewed. During the interview, she had stated that there would be some “shots fired” at the dinner. “There will be some shots fired tonight in the room,” she had said to a Fox News journalist. However, as soon as the dinner got interrupted by the shooting, many were quick to turn their attention to Leavitt’s previous remark, as netizens began to dissect the comment.

From "conspiracy" to whatnot– the internet had a lot to say. However, it later turned out that the White House Press Secretary was actually referring to Trump’s way of speaking: “funny and entertaining”, as the US President was also supposed to deliver a speech during the dinner. The possibility of actual shots being fired was not what she wanted to say.

Leavitt is not the only one grabbing eyeballs over the matter, as her husband, Nicholas “Nick” Riccio– had also “leaned over” and told her, “You need to be very safe,” before the dinner. It was Fox News reporter Aishah Hasnie who had revealed the same. Hasnie also claimed that he noted that Riccio appeared serious and was scanning the room while speaking.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from Torrance, California. He is currently in custody.

The police have arrested a 31-year-old California man from Torrance, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, over the matter. Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and First Lady Melania Trump were seated on the dais when the first shots rang out. They were then quickly evacuated from the venue.

“Karoline Leavitt’s pre-event remarks before a White House dinner featuring Donald Trump have come under renewed attention after a security scare disrupted the gathering in Washington,” the post read.

“Karoline...are you okay darling?” a user asked. “Was this all scripted? Feels like it, after watching her make this remark,” added another. “Release the speech and will see if there are really shots fired. problem is if there was no speech at all because they all knew they would be leaving early,” added another.
