The temple visit came ahead of the second phase of the West Bengal Elections. Taking to his social media handle, PM Modi shared his pictures visiting the temple on Sunday, April 26. “Prayed at the Matua Thakur Temple earlier today. The ideals of Sri Sri Harichand Thakur Ji and Sri Sri Guruchand Thakur Ji continue to illuminate our society,” his post read. (Image Credit: PM Modi’s X Handle)

The temple visit was then followed by PM Modi’s poll rally in North 24 Parganas. The first phase of the WB elections was held on April 23, while the second phase will be held on April 29. The results of the same will be announced on May 04.
Before this, the Prime Minister had taken a short break and had taken a calm boat ride on the Hooghly River in West Bengal. He enjoyed the fresh morning air while travelling across the water. (Image Credit: X)
