A blaze has erupted at an airbase in Gloucestershire currently in use by the US military.
Multiple emergency service crews were scrambled to tackle the fire atRAF Fairfordin the early hours of Sunday morning. Images from the scene suggested the roof of the building had caved in.
No injuries have been reported and no RAF aircraft have sustained damage, though the status of any US equipment remains unclear.
The Government granted the American air force permission to utilise RAF Fairford, near the Wiltshire border, following the onset of the war in Iran. Washington has deployed the facility to send bombers on defensive operations against Tehran.
The airbase has seen protests in response, with approximately 200 people previously gathering outside its gates.

Demonstrators carried placards reading "no war on Iran", "US out of British bases" and "stop Trump's deadly war".
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are responding to a fire in a commercial building in the Fairford area. Residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed due to smoke from the fire."
TheMinistry of Defencesaid the fire was in an "old/disused building" and caused by wiring.
