US President Donald Trump was rushed to safety on Saturday evening after suspected gunshots were heard while top officials were attending an annual dinner. The US President was enjoying the black-tie White House correspondents' dinner at the Washington Hilton when he was interrupted by a commotion.
Loud bangs could be heard, prompting the Secret Service to rush in and escort the president away from the venue as they called out “stay down, stay down”. Other top officials were also rushed out of the building while attendees crouched down.
It is not clear what has happened but there does not appear to be any injuries.
