The next G20 summit may take on a greater meaning.
Even though the wars in Ukraine and Iran are still unresolved, there is space in the geopolitical landscape for other currents of events.
While the world is on fire, there is still momentum on the work to rebuild diplomatic and commercial ties between the two nuclear superpowers: the United States and Russia.
Yesterday (24), the Kremlin announced that Russia’s Vladimir Putin could travel to the G20 summit in Miami in December.
This comes after US President Donald J. Trump has publicly stated that Putin’s presence would be very helpful, and also that ‘it had been a mistake to expel Russia from the G8’.

“The United States has invited Russia to the annual meeting of Group of 20 countries that Washington is holding this year in Miami, and Moscow has accepted the invitation, a U.S. official familiar with the matter said on Friday.
Putinhas not attended a G20 summit since 2019 due to the COVID pandemic and then Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine which triggered thebiggest crisis in relations between Moscow and the West since the depths of the Cold War.”
