The elite US Air Force Thunderbirds have landed at Travis Air Force Base, setting the stage fora high-flying spectacleas the Wings Over Solano air show takes off this weekend.

Gates open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, with the Thunderbirds headlining the event through their signaturehigh-speed, precision aerial formations, a major draw expected to pull in large crowds.

With turnout projected to be heavy, officials are urging visitors to plan ahead.

The Fairfield Police Department has already issued a traffic advisory, warning of congestion around the base and outlining strict entry procedures.

All public access will funnel through the Hospital Gate via Air Base Parkway.

Meanwhile, the Main Gate and North Gate are off-limits to anyone without Department of Defense identification.

Drivers should also note a firm cutoff: inbound traffic will be shut down at 3:30 p.m. each day, with no exceptions.

Every adult 18 and older must present valid identification and undergo screening before entering.

To ease the expected gridlock, organizers are offering free electric shuttle rides from the Fairfield–Vacaville train station starting at 9 a.m., with return trips kicking off at 5 p.m.Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive early or skip the car altogether.
