The comments helped the video reach millions and might even get the 10M likes before the Roland Garros, which gets underway on May 18.
"After the results of the tests carried out today, we have decided that the most prudent thing to do is to be cautious and not participate in Rome or Roland Garros, while we assess the situation to determine when we can return to the court," Alcaraz posted on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Djokovic last played at the Indian Wells, where he suffered a defeat to Jack Draper in the fourth round. Djokovic has his sights set on a 25th Grand Slam and is preparing for the French Open. He pulled out of the Madrid Open but should play in Rome to get prepared for the following Roland Garros.
The exit of Alcaraz disappointed tennis fans, and also Jannik Sinner, who said that Alcaraz will be a big miss at the French Open. He, however, said that Alcaraz should not rush back to tennis as wrist injuries can be serious for players.
“He’s definitely the best in the world on this surface. It’s sad news. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he’s ready for Wimbledon,” Sinner added.
“That’s very tough,” Sinner said after his match against Benjamin Bonzi at the Madrid Open. “With these kinds of injuries, you have to go very, very slow. It’s sad for tennis. Carlos is the defending champion, and as a competitor, I always want to play against the best in the world.”
