The video shows the motorcycle crash into a MSHP patrol vehicle while they were attempting to stop the suspect in Saline County, just west of Sweet Springs. A trooper attempted to prevent Alcantar-Chavez from getting back on the motorcycle, but the suspect grabbed a handgun and fired at law enforcement. Troopers returned fire and ended the threat, resulting the death of the suspect.One round fire by Alcantar-Chavez did strike the trooper, but was stopped by his ballistic vest. The trooper has since fully recovered and returned to duty.The complete dash cam footage of the incident provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol is linked below.
