Soon after Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha announced his exit from the Aam Aadmi Party and entry into the Bharatiya Janata Party, his former party hit out at him with a sharp remark. The AAP shared an AI-generated video on X showing Chadha with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president Nitin Nabin. Posting the video, the party wrote, “Traitor of Punjab”.
Rajya Sabha MP Chadha on Friday formally announced his exit from AAP and merger with the BJP, claiming that two-thirds of AAP’s Upper House members were joining him.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi alongside Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal, Chadha said, “The AAP, which I nurtured with my blood and sweat, and gave 15 years of my youth to, has deviated from its principles, values and core morals. Now this party does not work in the interest of the nation but for its personal benefits...For the past few years, I could feel that I am the right man in the wrong party. So, today, we announce that I am distancing myself from the AAP and getting close to public.”
The development has triggered a fresh political confrontation between the two parties, with more reactions expected in the coming days.
