At the Saturday, April 16, meeting, the Herricks Board of Education recognized a group of exceptional student-athletes for their outstanding achievements during the winter sports season.
The evening highlighted several individuals who secured Nassau County Championship titles, reflecting the high caliber of the district’s athletic programs.
The board celebrated Aya Sophia Abdrabo for her historic season in which she was crowned the Nassau County Girls Wrestling Champion. Her victory represents a significant achievement for the wrestling program and serves as an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the district.
In track and field, Kenneth Ramdayal was honored for his remarkable versatility and strength. Kenneth earned the title of Nassau County Champion in two distinct events: Shot Put and Weight Throw.
His dual championships underscore the dedication and technical skill required to excel at the highest levels of regional competition.
The district also took the opportunity to applaud the continued dominance of its swimming and diving program. Five student-athletes were recognized as Nassau County Swimming Champions for their superior performances in the pool: Matt Chang, Tyler Ip, Alvin Kim, Romeo Sanchez and Matt Simons.
These championships are a testament to the hard work of the students, the guidance of their coaches and the unwavering support of the Herricks community. The district congratulates these champions for their commitment to excellence and for representing Herricks with pride and distinction.
