Access to Xbox Backward Compatible Games allows users to unlock their achievements. It also enables them to access cloud saves and manage their profiles. Today, however, many Xbox Series X users can’t log in to Xbox Live on backward-compatible Xbox 360 games.
According to theaffected players, they often get an error message any time they try launching any 360 title. The message says:“Can’t connect to Xbox Live.”Further checks show that modern Xbox services don’t have any issues. As such, we can safely say that the issue only affects backward-compatible games.
The inability to launch any title is just one of the issues users experience. According tosome other users, the backward-compatible bug prevented them from logging in. They’re also experiencing failed profile downloads.
For most affected users, the issue surfaces during the early stages of console setup. However, a few people said they experienced the issue after setting up their console. So far, a lot of people have tried following some troubleshooting steps, but none have worked. For instance, KKEGAMING1 on ther/XboxSupportpage said:“I’ve tried clearing Xbox 360 storage, using a hotspot (both 2.4 and 5 GHz), power cycling, changing Microsoft 2FA settings, and changing port selection, but I can’t get it to work.”
According to KKEGAMING1, Xbox is already working on this issue. A few days ago, the support team posted on X that they know about the issue, in which Xbox Series X users can’t log in to Xbox Live. They also added that an investigation is ongoing.
Furthermore, the support team advised users to file reports through their Xbox status page. So, if this issue affects you, the best you can do is to visit the Xbox status page for updates. Of course, we’ll also keep an eye on the team for a fix. As soon as anything drops, we’ll keep you updated.
