The brutal murder of the 22-year-old daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Service officer in Delhi’s Kailash Hills has left many stunned across the capital. Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old former domestic help, who is also accused in the case, has told investigators that hedid not intend to killthe woman and that the crime began as an attempt to steal money, but the incident escalated after a confrontation between the victim and him.
However, police say the sequence of events, his prior alleged offences, and forensic evidence point to a far more violent and premeditated pattern.

According to investigators, Meena entered the houseusing a spare key, familiar with the layout from his earlier employment. When questioned about his presence, he allegedly claimed: "Aunty ne bulaya tha kaam se (Aunty called me for some work)."
Police sources, as quoted by NDTV, said Meena demanded money from the victim, and when she resisted, he attacked her with a lamp, rendering her unconscious. He then strangled her using a mobile charging cable and allegedly raped her while she was unconscious.
He later told police: "Main maarna nahi chahta tha par ho gaya (I didn't want to kill her, but it just happened)."
He added: "Wo log to mere liye bhagwan the. Bahut ache the dono. Lekin mujhe paisa chahiye tha (They were like gods to me. Both were very good. But I wanted money)."
Investigators believe the Delhi killing may be linked to another alleged rape committed by Meena in Rajasthan’s Alwar just hours earlier, raising questions about intent and behavioural pattern.
After the attack, Meena allegedly stole cash and jewellery, changed his clothes, and fled the house. The autopsy confirmed death due to strangulation, with multiple injuries indicating a violent struggle.
Police said Meena has shown little remorse during questioning and has changed his statements repeatedly. He is also being examined for psychological evaluation to assess behavioural traits and possible personality disorders.
