A 19-year-old man accused of raping andmurdering the daughter of an Indian Revenue Serviceofficer in south Delhi is also facing allegations of committing another sexual assault just hours earlier in Rajasthan’s Alwar, according to police. Investigators say the accused, Rahul Meena, travelled to Delhi soon after the alleged rape, entered his former employer’s home in Kailash Hills usinga spare key, and carried out a brutal attack that has shocked the national capital.

Police are now reconstructing Meena’s movements from Alwar to Delhi and then to a hotel in Dwarka, where he was arrested. They are also working to recover stolen items, including the victim’s phone, and are analysing CCTV footage to establish a detailed timeline.

Police said Meena first allegedly assaulted a woman in Alwar on Tuesday (April 21) night before making his way to Delhi early the next morning. The woman, who knew the accused, has alleged that he entered her home while her husband was away at a wedding and raped her. “The survivor has undergone a medical examination. We are sharing all the inputs with Delhi Police to fast-track the investigation,” Alwar Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary said.

Investigators believe Meena then travelled to Delhi and targeted the house of his former employer, where he had worked as a domestic help for about eight months before being dismissed over alleged financial misconduct. Police said he was familiar with the layout of the house and the family’s daily routine, including the parents’ morning absence.

He allegedly entered the house using a spare key kept in a shoe rack for other staff to access the premises while the family was away. Then he went directly to the rooftop study, where the 22-year-old victim was present.

According to police, Meena attacked the woman, strangled her with a mobile phone charging cable and struck her with a heavy object. “The investigation suggests that the accused raped the victim while she was still unconscious. He then dragged her down the stairs to another room where a locker was kept, and attempted to open the biometric lock using her fingerprint, but it did not open,” a police official told TOI.

He is then accused of breaking open the locker, stealing cash and jewellery, changing his blood-stained clothes and leaving shortly before the victim’s parents returned home.
