One experience that really helped build my confidence was being invited to the Girl Scout headquarters in New York City for a marketing campaign. Even though I wasn’t selected in the end, the experience taught me an important lesson about persistence. Instead of feeling discouraged, I walked away feeling more confident and motivated to keep trying new opportunities.

I learned more about how food insecurity affects people in my own community. It opened my eyes to the fact that hunger impacts more families than many people realize.

Working together makes trying new things a lot less intimidating. I think that it’s always easier and more entertaining when you have someone by your side. While we have similar creative styles, Mia’s calm personality balances my energy and together we enjoy brainstorming ideas and deciding who will take on each part of a project.

Art and creativity have always been an important part of my life, and I wanted other kids to have the chance to explore that too. I believe that there are plenty of sports and academic opportunities available for young people, but the arts get overlooked. Managing the sketch club was a great leadership experience and helped me start thinking about what I might want to focus on for my Girl Scout Gold Award in the next couple of years.
