Chennai Super Kings (CSK) displayed some absolute dominance with both bat and ball as they defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by a massive margin of 103 runs. This was a huge win for CSK, and they got back their momentum that they had lost after a defeat to Sunrisers Hyderaba d(SRH) in their previous game. On the other hand, MI, who looked jubilant after their 99-run win against Gujarat Titans (GT) have sunk to the lowest of lows with this massive defeat. Both teams were in the bottom part of the table, and now CSK has made some strides.

CSK have now had 6 points from 7 games, with three wins and four defeats. They have now climbed two places to the 6th spot, as they edge past MI and GT. MI on the other hand, have four points from 7 games, and have slipped to the 8th spot in the points table. They now need to win 6 out of 7 of their remaining games to ensure their qualification for the IPL 2026 playoffs.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl firstvs CSK. The Men in Yellow went all guns blazing right from the start and refused to slow down the flow of runs, even though wickets kept falling.

Sanju Samson held the fort at one end of the pitch and continued his onslaught, and his brilliant form that he has shown throughout the tournament. In fact, Samson went on to smash 101*, thus becoming the first CSK batter to slam a ton against MI in IPL history. They finally managed to score 207/6 in their 20 overs.

MI never got into the chase, espcially after losing three early wickets. Tilak Varma (37) and Suryakumar Yadav (36) looked to get some momentum going with a 73-run stand but failed, with the team finishing their innings on 104, thus winning by 103 runs.

Akeal Hosein was the star of the show with the ball as he picked up four wickets for just 14 runs in his four overs.
