Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey just gave Senate Republicans—and the American people—a massive middle finger by skipping out on a crucial Homeland Security oversight hearing to instead plot immigration resistance schemes with New York's socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

While senators waited to question Frey about his city's disastrous public safety record and sanctuary city policies, the Democrat mayor was busy flying to the Big Apple for a Thursday afternoon powwow focused on "public safety and protection of immigrants." Translation: How can we better obstruct President Trump's mass deportation operations?

This is the same Jacob Frey whose Minneapolis burned during the 2020 BLM riots while he cowered to the radical mob. Now he's thumbing his nose at legitimate congressional oversight to coordinate resistance against the will of the American people who voted overwhelmingly for Trump's immigration agenda.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has every right to demand answers from mayors whose sanctuary policies have turned American cities into magnets for criminal aliens. But instead of facing tough questions about Minneapolis's crime surge and immigration failures, Frey chose to play hooky with his fellow leftist mayor.

Mamdani, who represents the most radical wing of New York's Democratic Socialist movement, has been vocal about resisting Trump's deportation efforts. This isn't a coincidence—it's coordination.

This meeting represents everything wrong with the Democrat Party's approach to immigration. While working families struggle with the consequences of open borders—from overwhelmed schools to increased crime—these privileged politicians scheme about how to protect lawbreakers over law-abiding Americans.

President Trump's administration won't be deterred by these petty resistance games. The mass deportation operation will proceed with or without cooperation from radical mayors who put ideology before the safety of their own citizens.

Every day Frey and his socialist allies delay justice is another day criminal aliens remain on American streets. How many more American families will pay the price for their political theater?
