A major airline has issued an urgent update to all its passengers after cancelling their flights for several weeks. Widespread airspace closures across Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Jordan forced Qatar Airways to suspend or drastically scale back its operations, following a surge in regional conflict in late February 2026 that led governments to shut their skies for safety reasons.
At times, the airline has even stopped all flights worldwide — including every departure and arrival in Doha — after Qatari airspace was completely closed, and has said services will only resume once authorities confirm conditions are safe. However, Qatar Airways announced the resumption of flight operations between Doha and key destinations across the Middle East, reinstating daily services to the United Arab Emirates and Syria.

From April 23, the popular airlines will resume daily flights to Dubai (DXB), and Sharjah (SHJ), with a daily service to Damascus (DAM) commencing on May 1, 2026.
Sharing an update on Thursday, it said: “These resumptions are part of a phased restoration of Qatar Airways' global network, building on the airline's mid-April announcement confirming the expansion of its flight schedule from 16 June 2026 to more than 150 destinations across six continents.”
The airlines have urged passengers to regularly check their official website or app and ensure their contact details are correct and updated.
