Vladmir Putinhas been left red faced after a Russian pundit said on TV that the Kremlin is not yet winning his unlawful full-scalewar with Ukraine.Speaking on ‘The Meeting Place’ talk show aired by Gazprom Media channel NTV, Vadim Gasanov, a documentary filmmaker, frankly said that Ukraine is “successfully resisting”.
Before declaring war onUkrainein 2022, many international analysts thought Ukraine would collapse quickly or offer limited resistance. However, this has been far from the reality, withRussiamaking limited territorial gains at enormous human cost. Since February 2022, Russian forces are believed to have suffered nearly 1.2 million casualties, more losses than any major power in any war since World War 2. Russia, much like Ukraine, doesn't release a bulletin of its war casualties.

Mr Gasnavov said: “The Ukrainian army has not been destroyed, it did not capitulate”.
The pundit added that “as a country, Ukraine has every opportunity to continue its resistance and it is successfully resisting”.
Russian forces are advancing at between a sluggish 15 and 70 meters per day in their most prominent offensives, slower than nearly any major offensive campaign in any war in the last century.
Seemingly critical of how the war is going for Russia, Mr Gasnavov believes Ukraine can see Moscow is “having major difficulties on the front" and that Russia is at risk of "falling apart".
He continued: “Once again Ukraine is not defeated. More than that, the Ukrainian society, regardless of what is being written about it, 82% want the conflict to end.
“Guys, the Ukrainian society believes that if they apply a bit more pressure, we’ll fall apart."
