Korea is set to launch a nationwide shopping festival at duty-free stores this weekend to attract more tourists and boost local consumption, its organizers said Thursday.

The Korea Duty-Free FESTA 2026 will offer reduced prices of up to 60 percent on items sold at some 21 duty-free stores located at airports and those inside the cities of Seoul, Busan and Jeju, as well as online stores, according to the Korea Customs Service and the Korea Duty Free Shops Association.

The event is the seventh of its kind and will run from April 25 to May 31, overlapping with China's Labor Day holiday and Japan's Golden Week, the organizers said.

This year's FESTA will also include various programs to revitalize the regional economy, including some 30 million won ($20,275.7) worth of local gift vouchers, they added.
