It is no longer surprising to learn that Democrats are sending heaps of taxpayer money to left-wing groups that cause chaos in our streets before re-electing Democrats to do it all over again.
But it is shocking to learn the scale of the grift, and the fact that so many state-subsidized organizations are bringing illegal migrants to this country — a country they never stop running down.
Christopher F. Rufo and Susan Crabtree wrote in The California Post that Gavin Newsom “has grantedapproximately $1 billionto an army of nonprofits that has encouraged unchecked numbers of migrants to enter the country.”
Many of the groups claimed to be doing humanitarian work. But they were simply helping Joe Biden and the Democrats flood the country with migrants, whom they hope to turn into voting citizens one day.
Pro-amnesty Democrats like to talk about the cheap labor that migrants provide. In that way, ironically, they are aligned with Wall Street fatcats who value profits over border security.
But the flood of migrants has led to social disorder, including the infiltration of foreign gangs, and the stagnation of working-class wages.
It has also led to deep political divisions in this country.
Some migrants are honest and hard-working, and a few can make genuine cases for asylum.
But even those who do not commit crimes — other than entering the country illegally, or overstaying their visas — create a huge burden on government services, and even on rental costs in the private market.
Legal immigration, properly regulated, can be very good for America. Unchecked migration,and illegal immigration, are bad for America, and for California.
